Yes, we're the same folks that bring you the way cool and unique line of retro metal lawn furniture. But we also fish! Our new line of quality, high modulus graphite fly rods was developed from years of practical fishing experience along with extensive research in the art of making traditional bamboo as well as synthetic fishing rods. Torrans Kingfisher Fly Rods are made to our own unique and strict specifications using private blend IM7 carbon fiber on proprietary mandrels to ISO 9000 production standards. These rods are made from sanded blanks but they are not fully sanded and polished which simply means the wall thickness of the blank is more consistent giving the completed rod a smoother, uniform action from tip to butt.
Here are some of the important value features:

Torrans Kingfisher Fly Rods are currently produced in two popular sizes 9' 5/6 weight and 8' 4/5 weight. Each is medium to medium fast in action and load best with your favorite quality Double Taper or Weight Forward line and are perfectly happy to cast either of the two specified line weights. For faster loading with a bit slower action, choose the upper line class for a mellow, more traditional casting feel and softer presentation. By opting for the lower line class the rod gives increased line speed and less middle loading enabling longer casts in that line class. All in all, our new Kingfisher fly rods have a more relaxed, vintage feel of a simpler time but made using quality, modern materials.
