Originally designed about 1946 by the late Ed Warmack of Fort Smith, Arkansas. These Art Deco inspired stamped steel chairs were purchased by the tens of thousands during the booming years of the Post-War Atomic Era. Ed’s colorful steel lawn furniture could be found on porches, in backyards, fronts of motels and around pools all across America. Their popularity extends today!

Ed sold his company in 1955. Production continued until 1970 when again the factory was traded. New owners, Flanders Industries which later became Lloyd Flanders maintained prolific production until 1996.

In 2001, Torrans Manufacturing Co., LLC began making its line of this traditional lawn furniture to the same specifications used by previous manufacturers. Heavy duty frames, stainless steel fasteners and high gloss UV resistant powder coat all add up to traditional value your grandparents would be proud of!

Bellaire Double Glider by Torrans Manufacturing Co., LLC.

A backyard tradition since 1947. Same classic design and generous dimensions as vintage originals, now with added strength. This timeless Double Glider is a faithful continuation of the same design your Grandmother had in her backyard! It's every thing I'd hoped it would be. It was the perfect addition to my screened in porch. I share the frustration about the black foam but after some elbow grease, I think I'm probably the only one who notices it. Another issue I had was with the assembly instructions (I bought the double glider). There are a few places where the instructions and photos could be more clear. For example, it tells you there are 2 sizes of bolts and 3 sizes of washers. Then in the instructions it tells you to attach using the bolts and washers, but it doesn't say which ones and although there is a picture, there isn't anything to show perspective so it's hard to know what is pictured. I figured it out, but the instructions could be more clear.

We bought the Bellaire Glider along with the matching chairs in Sep 2013. We are very pleased with the colors and how they look in our little sitting area we created. The only negative I can thnk of is like the others who wrote reviews, the black rubber that comes on it I guess for protection, is VERY HARD to get off. We got off as much as we could but there's still some left on it. It's not that big of a deal but I would have rathered that been easy to come off. Especially because of the price of the glider and that the trim is white which really shows where the black rubber was. Other than that we are happy!

Fast shipping on an almost perfect item. Had one defective bolt but there is a spare included with the kit. It is a quality piece of equipment and goes together fairly easy but I agree with one reviewer who said that there should be a bolt for the slip joint. It's the only joint on the whole glider that does not bolt together and can slip out if picked up to move by the chairs but not a big deal. Also, the packing for the main frame and chair frame was a black rubber, neoprene like, foam that stuck so badly to the ends of the parts that I could not get it off. I called the factory and they gave me instructions on the best way to remove it. Bottom line is TONS of elbow grease and although it all came off you can still see a slight dark tint where the rubber was. The factory offered me a discount and I took it but was not happy as they said that my glider should have been sold as a second. I was in a bind as it was a gift and I needed to complete it that day, otherwise, I would have sent it back! Now I don't know if my purchase is considered a second or not or if I can send it back under warranty if something happens to it As there are NO RETURNS on seconds!

We ordered this with a set of 2 chairs and a table. Fast shipment of a quality product. The chairs went together so easy, the glider took a little more time but not too bad. The fit and finish are beutiful. We love our New - Old Chairs and Glider.!. They are as much fun to look at as they are to sit on. We would absolutley buy from Torrans Mfg or Retro Metal Chairs again

We own 2 of these Gliders, the best buy I ever made! I searched for over a year for outdoor furniture and I decided on this product and company. I love them! They are well made, easy to clean, and very comfortable. One of the added pluses is you can mix and match the colors. I also own the chairs and side tables!
